Spanish midfielder, Santi Cazorla has said he would love to return to Arsenal in the future, following the appointment of Mikel Arteta as the club’s new manager.

Ming online had earlier reported that Arsenal on Friday confirmed Mikel Arteta as their new manager.

Arteta signed a three-and-a-half-year contract, to replace Unai Emery.

Cazorla, who spent six years with Arsenal, suffered serious Achilles problems, before he was finally released in 2018, after making 180 appearances for the Gunners.

The 34-year-old currently plays for Villarreal in the La Liga, but welcome the opportunity to return to Arsenal at some stage to work alongside former teammate Arteta at Emirates.

When asked if he could become the latest former Arsenal player to return to the club, following Arteta’s appointment as the club’s new manager, Cazorla was quoted by Football London as saying: “In the future, who knows? I will certainly have to work out what I want to be doing and it is right to say that we have a great relationship and many times we have talked about what the future will bring us.

“I will always be open to helping him [Arteta] because he is my friend and also because of all the things he did for me when I came to England.”
