| December 14th, 2019

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has cancelled Christmas for his first-team stars, as they have all been banned from attending the club’s festive party.

According to Goal, Guardiola is keen to avoid another festive slump, like the one which threatened to derail their treble hopes last year. After last year’s celebrations, Manchester City were surprisingly beaten 3-2 at home to Crystal Palace and then lost to Leicester four days later.

They eventually recovered to successfully defend their Premier League title. And with City currently 14 points behind league leaders Liverpool, Guardiola has taken action to avoid a similar slump by banning players from this year’s bash.

Jose Mourinho had an unhappy return to Old Trafford, with his Tottenham side falling to a 2-1 loss away to Manchester United.

Marcus Rashford netted a double as Manchester United earned a 2-1 Premier League win at home to Tottenham on Jose Mourinho's return to Old Trafford.Spurs had won their three matches across all competitions since Mourinho was appointed as Mauricio Pochettino's replacement last month, but they slipped to defeat on Wednesday after a below-par showing.

Rashford put United ahead and, after a superb individual effort from Dele Alli levelled the scores, the striker converted a penalty to end United's three-game winless run.

Man City’s Mahrez devastated after boxing champion, Wilder flirted with his wife, Rita
| November 04th, 2019

Manchester City ace, Riyad Mahrez is reportedly furious after heavyweight boxing champion Deontay Wilder flirted with his wife Rita in a nightclub, The Sun, UK reports.

The newspaper quoted Mahrez friends as saying that Wilder and Rita were ‘chatting intently’ at boxer’s VIP table in the trendy Manchester nightspot, popular among big-spending footballers and WAGS."They were chatting intently, laughing and joking. You could see there was chemistry there and a real connection,” a source told The Sun.

“But because of where it was, a lot of people noticed how well they seemed to be getting along.

“It’s a club full of footballers and Wags, which even some of Riyad’s team-mates go to. Rita was actually on a night out with Riyad’s sisters who she really gets on with."And they did not appear to be happy with what was going on. One even seemed to go and get Rita, to take her away from Deontay, who was of course trying to keep her with him.”

Mahrez, a Muslim non-drinker who eschews the typical footballer lifestyle, was ‘devastated’ to hear how Wilder, the WBC champion and father-of-eight who is known for his freakish punching power, seemed to hit it off with Rita so quickly.

According to the report, Wilder spotted Rita from across the club and had one of his entourage invite her over to the table to meet him.She knew who he was but wasn’t starstruck and soon the pair were enjoying an in depth conversation, in full view of Mahrez’s teammates and other revellers.

“Word soon got back to Riyad about what had happened. He knew about it by early the next morning. Riyad was shocked and a bit upset about it — and he couldn’t get his head around what was going on,’ the newspaper’s source added.

Rita married Mahrez in August 2015 and has has two young children with her.

Ebonyi pastor blames ‘deceitful spirit’ for failed prediction on Super Falcons
| June 25th, 2019

A Popular Ebonyi-based Pastor, Rev. Simeon Ononogbu, has blamed a “deceitful” spirit for the failed prediction that the Super Falcons will reach the semi-finals of the on-going FIFA Women World Cup in France, reports the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Ononogbu, a self-acclaimed forecaster, predicated in an interview that the Falcons would reach the semi-finals of the tournament, while the hosts, France would place fifth (best placed quarter-finalists).

The former Secretary of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ebonyi branch, sought the understanding of Nigerians on the failed prophesy, noting that he will be more careful in future prophesies.

“It is a pity that the prediction on the Falcons failed which means that it was not a revelation from God.

“We have so many spirits that can deceive people and if we are not careful, we will make mistakes such as this,” he said.
He said that several spirits abound which behaved like God’s spirit to talk and deceive men of God.

“The bible says that some spirits at times, transform into angels of light to talk to us.

“We have “fallen’’ spirits that deceive the children of God because we are humans and weaker than the other spirits,” he said.
Ononogbu, however, revealed that the prophecy on the Falcons could also have failed because he failed to interpret the revelation properly.

“At times when we don’t interpret properly, we will have problems out of it and this can also be seen as a wrong interpretation,” he said.

He, however, insisted that in spite of the failed prophesy, the revelation of France placing fifth in the tournament still stands because it is from God.

“This particular interpretation was clearer than that of the Falcons and we should wait till the end of the competition for its fulfillment,” he said.

Ononogbu, urged Nigerians not to judge him with the failed prophesy as he had correctly made eight-significant prophesies which were fulfilled.

“I earlier predicted the visit of Rev, Uma Ukpai to Ebonyi and those who refused to heed the directive on the venue saw the number of people that died,” he said.
